Welcome to PinBoxy Studios: Where Every Story Begins

There comes a moment in life when you stop asking, “What am I supposed to do?” and begin asking, “What do I want to leave behind?”

One of the questions I’ve asked myself throughout my life is, “What is my passion?”

For years, I didn’t have an answer.

I’m 49 years old, and for much of my life, I didn’t fully understand what I was truly passionate about. Like many people, I focused on the responsibilities life placed in front of me. I have to admit that, most of the time, I did what was expected of me instead of what I truly wanted because I believed it was the “right way.” I jumped from profession to profession and was always left feeling unsatisfied.

One of the most influential men in my life showed me what it meant to do what you love. He was a teacher, a cross-country coach, and a track and field coach. He always believed in pursuing your dreams. The problem was that I was never quite sure what mine were.

When I was 23, I proudly served in the U.S. Navy. It taught me discipline, resilience, and the importance of serving something greater than myself. After completing my service, I focused on building a career and raising my family. Yet, even as life moved forward, there was always something quietly pulling me back.

I grew up with my brother, who loved Star Wars, Marvel, and DC Comics. Those worlds captured my imagination in a way that never faded. Even today, I still find myself inspired by their heroes, their adventures, and the idea that every story has the power to leave a lasting impact.

At first, my goal was simple.

I wanted to create artwork inspired by the worlds I loved.

That was it.

The only problem was that I had no idea where to begin.

I was surrounded by people who seemed effortlessly talented. I had ideas, but at the time, I didn’t appreciate the value of having an imagination. I thought creativity belonged only to artists with exceptional talent. I didn’t realize that imagination itself was a gift worth developing.

I wasn’t trying to build a fantasy universe or create a brand.

I simply wanted to create.

As I explored that idea, something unexpected happened.

The more I created, the more I realized I didn’t want to tell someone else’s stories—I wanted to tell my own.

Through countless brainstorming sessions, sketches, conversations, and a willingness to learn, those first ideas began to evolve. Characters became personalities. Personalities became Guardians. A collection of artwork slowly transformed into The Emerald Wood Realm, the first realm of what would eventually become PinBoxy Studios.

What began as inspiration from the creators I admired became an opportunity to discover my own creative voice. Today, every Guardian I create, every story I write, and every realm I build represents that journey.

PinBoxy Studios isn’t about recreating the worlds that inspired me.

It’s about honoring them by creating something original.

Most importantly, it’s about leaving behind something meaningful for my children. I hope that one day they’ll see this project not just as artwork or stories, but as proof that it’s never too late to discover your passion. Sometimes your greatest purpose doesn’t appear all at once—it grows from a single idea, nurtured with patience, curiosity, and the courage to keep creating.
